The galley hand — who cooks what

How it works

Each meal can have a galley hand: the crew member responsible for preparing it. Assignments are manual and per meal — there is no automatic rotation or generated schedule. You know who cooks what based on the dishes and each person's skills.

Assigning a galley hand

1. Open a meal modal (click on a cell in the grid).
2. In the Galley hand field, select a crew member from the dropdown list.
3. Click Save.

The galley hand's name then appears on the grid cell.

Changing or removing a galley hand

Reopen the meal modal and edit the Galley hand field. Select the empty option to remove the assignment.

The Galley tab

The Galley tab is a derived view: it shows who cooks which meal by grouping the assignments from the grid. It is read-only — you cannot change assignments directly there.

To change an assignment, go back to the Meals tab and edit the relevant meal.
